About us

TGS Co. Ltd. is a private owned, Maltese registered company. The Company was set up in 1996 and has a registered office in Swieqi Malta. The company is owned and managed by two company directors who have a background in technical and commercial matter and this ensures a quality service to our clients of the highest EU standards.

The Company since its inception, was granted an Employment Agency License by the relevant Maltese Authorities, a license which it still holds till today. However in 1999 the company changed its strategic direction and started to offer manpower subcontracting services to Maltese companies and to foreign companies operating in Malta. Initially such a service was offered in the construction and civil engineering industry but due to shortage of enough local skilled labour it was extended to other areas such as electrical works, building services, welding and fitting works, pipe fitting, dry wall portioning and soffit works , tiling in both marble & ceramic tiles, plastering and other finish trades.

Working with International clients
From its early days TGS has worked with a vast array of international companies. Skanska Malta JV, a Joint Venture made up of local contractors and Skanska from Sweden was amongst its first international clients. Skanska was the main contractor for the design and construction of the Mater Dei Hospital Project.

During the duration of the design works, TGS Co. Ltd subcontracted and seconded over 35 personnel varying from ACAD technicians in the spheres of mechanical works, fire fighting and sprinkler systems, medical gases, water , heating and ventilation, drainage and waste water treatment, high and low voltage electrical installations, architectural, structural and room functional planning to Ph.D qualified personnel, On the same project TGS subcontracted staff to ABB Installations not only in the Design office but also on site, especially when it came to setting up and commissioning of the distribution transformers and the high voltage switchgear for the power supply of the hospital. Slowly but surely other sub-contractors involved on the Hospital Project started approaching TGS either by sub contracting labour on the hourly rate or by sub contracting part of their work packages.

Such work packagess included amongst others works from the Italian companies - Valdro Gyspum which was responsible for the dry walls and gypsum soffit works and Aster/ Grossi & Speier- the main mechanical contractor. For this company we were awarded works on duct insulations and final mechanical commissioning.

The company sees scope for further growth in other services in areas such as project management, design, mechanical & electrical consultancy and intends to offer the services it offers today and the services outside Malta in the coming years.

Working with Local Companies

Moreover we can proudly state that on the majority of projects we worked on these projects were finished, on time , on budget and to the highest quality standards.

HOW WE OPERATE

The company does not tender for project directly. However early involvement in the tendering stage by providing the relevant expertise & assistance to main contractor in project planning, scheduling, manpower assessment, cost evaluation, risk analysis and price determination guarantees a win-win situation for all the parties involved. The company thus does not complete against local companies but supplies and seconds labour  if and when required. These services have a direct benefit to the main contractor but also ultimately to the project owner.
